Buttermilk Biscuits
in food & drinkThese buttermilk biscuits are so delicious! For a long time I thought that biscuits were difficult to make, but they are actually one of the easiest/fastest recipes! These scrumptious biscuits melt in your mouth and are so yummy! I made these (for myself!) for Mother's Day, and topped them with strawberry jam and whipped cream. Plus I cut them into heart shapes, which makes them even better! It was a delicious way to pamper myself for breakfast!
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons chilled butter, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup buttermilk
Directions
- Mix dry ingredients together.
- Cut butter into flour mixture, using a pastry blender or a fork, until mixture resembles corn meal.
- Add buttermilk, and mix ingredients until just blended together (do not over-mix).
- Roll dough out on a floured surface to about ¼ to ½ inch thick.
- Cut dough into shapes (I did heart-shaped biscuits).
- Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. For more stuck-together biscuits, place biscuits barely touching each other.
- Bake at 425° for 12-14 minutes, or until tops just barely begin to brown.
